Hello, we’re the Wilson family! Like all parents, our world revolves around our kids, so choosing a family-oriented franchise was a top priority when we chose to build a Children’s Lighthouse Early Learning School. We became familiar with the concept when our youngest daughter was enrolled in a Lighthouse preschool class. She excelled at Children's Lighthouse and developed a genuine love for learning as a student there. As parents, we felt very confident in the teachers, curriculum, and safety of the school. We are now dedicated to the idea of creating and sharing the same positive, nurturing environment that laid a foundation for a love of learning in our own home.
We have been blessed with three daughters - Allie, Taylor and Tess. Because they are so different from each other, we can appreciate that there is no cookie-cutter approach to developing young minds. Each child has a unique set of talents, strengths, and gifts and one of the Children’s Lighthouse Core Values is the creation of a learning environment that is mindful of the child as an individual.
We also fell in love with the Children's Lighthouse concept because of the "family" focus. A Texas-based franchise, Children’s Lighthouse is family-owned and their passion for early childhood education shows in every aspect of their business philosophy!
The greatest reward we can hope for in owning our own Children's Lighthouse is knowing that we laid a foundation for a lifetime of passionate learning. Each child's success will be defined differently as he or she grows but if learning is viewed positively, the sky is the limit!
Jessica graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Journalism and Russian. She grew up in Fort Worth but has lived most of her life in Houston. She has over fifteen years of experience in HR-related roles, but her real passion lies in volunteerism. She has led two Girl Scout troops, taught Junior Achievement, coached youth sports, and has been active as a Mentor to elementary students in CFISD as well as Katy ISD. Jessica has been nominated to serve on School Naming and Bond Committees and received a Volunteer of the Year award for contributions to her daughters' school. Additionally, she founded a non-profit chapter of an organization designed to support mothers and children locally.
John graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an Engineering degree. His family has lived in the Houston area for over a century! John began his career as a Civil Engineer and transitioned into IT not long after. He worked as an IT consultant for ten years before accepting a role with an oil and gas company where he currently works as an IT Manager. When he's not working, he volunteers at his daughters' schools and enjoys coaching them in youth sports.
