Welcome to Children's Lighthouse Richmond - Harvest-Green! Sisters Karen and Daniella are the proud owners of this early learning school. Both sisters have extensive experience as elementary teachers and hold a deep appreciation for early childhood education. As parents themselves, they understand the value of providing a nurturing and secure environment that nurtures the overall development of each child. It is for this reason that they are so passionate about the Children's Lighthouse concept, which combines child-centered learning with a focus on character values.
Karen is not only a parent of twin boys but also an experienced teacher and seasoned childcare professional. Her journey in childcare began 20 years ago when she started working in a preschool while studying at the University of Houston-Downtown. Alongside her college studies, Karen pursued her Child Development Associate (CDA) qualification to further enhance her teaching skills. Eventually, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of St. Thomas-Houston. Karen firmly believes that children thrive when they are provided with a safe and loving environment. Therefore, she considers it crucial to offer a school that can cater to a child's social and emotional needs, just as Children's Lighthouse does.
Daniella is also a teacher and mother to her son, Conner. She has accumulated extensive childcare experience over the past 20 years. While studying at the University of Houston, Daniella worked in preschool classrooms as well as the front office. This provided her with a diverse range of experiences, including curriculum development and implementation, as well as day-to-day administrative operations. Following college, Daniella worked as an elementary school teacher, ultimately specializing in reading intervention. Through her experiences, she strongly believes in recognizing each child's unique individuality and supports a comprehensive curriculum that caters to diverse needs. This is why she promotes the Children's Lighthouse STREAM and Lighthouse CARES program.
Karen and Daniella are thrilled to combine their years of experience and their passion for teaching to create a top-quality school. They are dedicated to providing enriching experiences for the children and a sense of security for the parents.
